The NJLSVA was founded to educate suppliers on trends in industry procurement and public policy that affects the life sciences industry.

William Paterson University Unveils Preakness Hall, Part 1 of $31 Million Renovation Project

Wayne, NJ, October 4, 2017 — Arthur Augustyn reports in NJBIZ that William Paterson University officially opened its new academic building, Preakness Hall, which was partially funded by New Jersey’s “Building Our Future” bond act.

The state contributed $7 million to the project with an estimated overall cost of $31 million for renovating and updating key academics facilities on the William Paterson campus.

Preakness Hall replaces the university’s 50-year-old Hunziker Wing and has been modernized to include kinesiology laboratories, 14 smart classrooms with 133-inch high-definition projectors, a 90-seat auditorium, a writing center and faculty offices for the Departments of English and Philosophy. William Paterson University President to Step Down After 2017-2018 Academic Year

Wayne, NJ, August 24, 2017 — Kathleen Waldron, who has led strategic initiatives that have enhanced academics and infrastructure at William Paterson University, on August 22 announced that she will retire at the end of the 2017-18 academic year after eight years as president of the institution.

President Waldron plans to retire effective June 30, 2018.  The University’s Board of Trustees has launched a national search for a new president.

“I will turn 70 years old in September 2018 and have had the great honor of being an academic administrator for 20 years,” says President Waldron, who became the institution’s seventh president on August 2, 2010. Continue reading

William Paterson University Honors Students to Present Research at Conferences Across U.S. in Spring 2017

Wayne, NJ, March 3, 2017 — Twenty-one William Paterson University honors students will be presenting their research at three conferences this spring 2017, in disciplines ranging from psychology to communication disorders to music.

Conferences include:

  • The Eastern Psychological Association Conference in Boston, MA from March 16 to 18;
  • The National Council on Undergraduate Research at the University of Memphis in Memphis, TN from April 6 to 8;
  • The Northeast Regional Honors Conference in Pittsburgh, PA from April 6 to 9

Acting Governor Guadagno Celebrates Completion of Bond Act Project at William Paterson University

 Trenton, NJ, January 19, 2016 ― Acting Governor Kim Guadagno on January 13 attended the grand opening of University Hall, a life sciences academic building, at William Paterson University, in Wayne.

The project was completed partially through funds from the Building Our Future General Obligation Bond Act (the GO Bond Act), which was signed into law by Governor Christie in 2012.
