The NJLSVA was founded to educate suppliers on trends in industry procurement and public policy that affects the life sciences industry.

Monmouth University Interim President Grey Dimenna to Stay Until June 2019

West Long Branch, NJ, June 26, 2017 — Grey Dimenna, plucked out of retirement to fill in as president of Monmouth University, has extended his contract and will serve until June 2019, the school said.

Dimenna said the temporary appointment won’t prevent the West Long Branch university from taking steps to tackle pressing issues facing higher education, including its cost.

“Although I’m only going to be president a couple years, there’s a lot of important things to do,” Dimenna, 63, said. “There’s a lot of momentum we need to keep going.” Continue reading

Monmouth University Recognized by EPA as Top Green Power User in Metro Atlantic Conference in 2016-2017

West Long Branch, NJ, May 1, 2017 — The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) has recognized Monmouth University as an Individual Conference Champion of the 2016-17 College & University Green Power Challenge for using more green power than any other school in the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference.

Green power is zero-emissions electricity generated from environmentally preferable renewable resources, such as wind, solar, geothermal, eligible biogas, biomass, and low-impact hydro.

Using green power helps accelerate the development of new renewable energy capacity nationwide and helps users reduce their carbon footprints. Continue reading

Monmouth University Announces Retirement of President Paul R. Brown

West Long Branch, NJ, March 2, 2017 — Monmouth University yesterday announced the retirement of President Paul R. Brown, Ph. D. and the appointment of former Vice President and General Counsel Grey J. Dimenna to serve as Interim President during the search for Brown’s successor.

The announcement was made by Chair of the Board of Trustees Henry D. Mercer.

Brown, Monmouth’s eighth president in the school’s 84-year history, joined the University in 2013.  His sabbatical is planned to begin in March and will conclude with his retirement. Continue reading

West Long Branch, NJ, January 29, 2014 ― Monmouth University School of Science will present 2014 Summer Research Program (SRP) from May 22 through August 18, 2014.

Participants will experience a life-changing summer by working with faculty members on exciting research projects.  Join other motivated students for the School of Science Summer Research Program.  This 12-week program is a challenging opportunity to work on collaborative research projects under the supervision of School of Science faculty and staff. Paul Brown Takes Over as Monmouth University President with a Global Vision

West Long Branch, NJ, August 23, 2013The Star-Ledger today reports that Paul Brown, the former dean of the business college at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania, takes over Monmouth University with plans to bring a more global focus to the mid-size private university on the Jersey Shore.

Founded as a junior college in the 1930s to offer evening classes to cash-strapped local students, Monmouth has grown into a 6,500-student university on a picturesque campus less than two miles from the Atlantic Ocean.  Its student body is largely white and from New Jersey. Continue reading
