The New Jersey Life Sciences Vendors Alliance (NJLSVA) is a coalition of businesses, individuals and academia who provide goods and services to New Jersey’s life sciences companies.

The NJLSVA was founded to educate suppliers on trends in industry procurement and public policy that affects the life sciences industry.

New Jersey Celebrates National Minority Health Month 2017; Health Equity Forums Scheduled

Trenton, NJ, April 11, 2017 — April is National Minority Health Month and this year’s theme is “Bridging Health Equity Across Communities.”

To raise awareness and highlight New Jersey’s efforts to promote and build healthier communities, hospitals, local and county health departments, and community groups will host more than 70 events throughout the state.

The New Jersey Department of Health’s Office of Minority and Multicultural Health (OMMH), along with its local partners, will be holding a series of health equity forums to encourage health and wellness, and disease prevention. Continue reading

April Is Minority Health Month; 2016 Them Is ‘Accelerating Health Equity for the Nation’

Minority Health Month AprilTrenton, NJ, April 2, 2016 ― The New Jersey Department of Health announced that, from blood pressure screenings to wellness fairs and health equity forums, dozens of community groups, faith-based organizations, hospitals, local health departments and nursing homes are observing Minority Health Month with about 70 events planned throughout New Jersey in April.

“New Jersey is an incredibly diverse state, with more than 20 percent of our population foreign-born,” Acting Health Commissioner Cathleen Bennett said.  “Though disparities remain, these events will help address challenges and advance health equity by offering free screening and educational opportunities.”

Acting Commissioner Bennett will participate in two health equity forums this month, both co-hosted by the Department’s Office of Minority and Multicultural Health (OMMH). Continue reading

NIH Names Dr. Eliseo Pérez-Stable Director of National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities

Bethesda, MD, April 28, 2015 ― National Institutes of Health Director Francis S. Collins, M.D., Ph.D., announced today the selection of Eliseo J. Pérez-Stable, M.D., as Director of the National Institute on Minority Health and Health Disparities (NIMHD).  Dr. Pérez-Stable is expected to join NIH in September.

“Eliseo is a highly respected leader with rich experience in advancing efforts to eliminate health disparities,” said Dr. Collins. “He has the passion and vision to guide the NIMHD research agenda in this critically important area.” Continue reading
