The New Jersey Life Sciences Vendors Alliance (NJLSVA) is a coalition of businesses, individuals and academia who provide goods and services to New Jersey’s life sciences companies.

The NJLSVA was founded to educate suppliers on trends in industry procurement and public policy that affects the life sciences industry.

Christie Touts ‘World Class’ Cancer Care in NJ at Groundbreaking of New MD Anderson Cancer Center In Florham Park

dirt-shoveling-dirtFlorham Park, NJ, October 26, 2016— Alex Napoliello reports in The Star-Ledger/NJ.com that Gov. Chris Christie and medical officials gathered Tuesday for a ceremonial groundbreaking of a new medical center that will expand cancer care in the state.

Expected to open in 2018, the Summit Medical Group’s new MD Anderson Cancer Center in Florham Park is an extension of the MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper University Hospital in Camden.

Christie said the new center is indicative of the growth of health care around the state, especially in the aftermath of the merger between UMDNJ and Rutgers University. Continue reading

Cooper Cancer Center Looks to Expand Its Research, Geographic Reach

MD Anderson Cooper Cancer facilityCamden, NJ, July 27, 2016 ― Katie Jennings reports on Politico New Jersey that three years into a partnership with Houston-based MD Anderson Cancer Center, the president and CEO of Cooper University Health Care said the South Jersey health system is focused on expanding the geographic reach of its cancer services, as well as its research capabilities.

“We want to expand cancer care in our state, not just in our traditional local market,” Adrienne Kirby told POLITICO New Jersey.

Earlier this month, Cooper, located in Camden, opened a 30-bed inpatient unit to match the patient experience at the flagship outpatient facility which opened in 2013, Kirby said. Continue reading

MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper Selected for CMS Initiative Promoting Better Cancer Care

Cooper MD Anderson LogoVoorhees Township, NJ, July 25, 2016 ― The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that it has selected MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper as one of nearly 200 physician group practices and 17 health insurance companies to participate in a care delivery model that supports and encourages higher quality, more coordinated cancer care.

The Medicare arm of the Oncology Care Model includes more than 3,200 oncologists and will cover approximately 155,000 Medicare beneficiaries nationwide.

“We are proud to have been selected to participate and further advance the delivery of high-quality care for patients with cancer,” said Generosa Grana, MD, director of MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper. Continue reading
