Global Pharmaceutical Company Mallinckrodt Locates Growing Specialty Brands Businesses in Bedminster

Mallinckrodt logoChesterfield, United Kingdom, August 19, 2016 — Mallinckrodt plc (NYSE: MNK), a leading global specialty pharmaceutical company, announced yesterday it will build out a new campus for its fast-growing Specialty Brands organizations in the Somerset Financial Center, 1405-1425 Route 206, in Bedminster.

Mallinckrodt will invest greater than $80 million in New Jersey, and anticipates approximately 400 employees will occupy the new space in the first quarter of 2017.

The company is also continuing its investment in St. Louis, Mo., having recently begun the next phase of construction at its downtown St. Louis manufacturing facility—part of the more than $140 million in capital projects and related expenses it has invested in offices and plant locations that house Mallinckrodt’s legacy businesses and key administrative functions in the area. Acting Governor Guadagno Announces Record Number of New NJ Businesses in 2015

Trenton, NJ, July 21, 2016 ― A sign of continued positive trends in New Jersey’s economy, Acting Governor Kim Guadagno yesterday announced the number of new businesses that filed to start operations in New Jersey last year soared to a record 97,835, the highest level in state history, New Jersey Business reports.

The 2015 level is higher than 2014, when 94,898 new businesses were formed, and continues the upward momentum of new filings since the start of the Christie Administration in 2010 when there were 80,773 new filings, according to the New Jersey Department of the Treasury.

“I am proud to announce that 2015 was a record year for business growth in New Jersey,” Acting Governor Guadagno said.  “More than 97,000 new businesses filed to begin work in our state last year which marks the highest level in New Jersey history.” Continue reading

Trenton, NJ, June 20, 2016New Jersey Business magazine, a publication of New Jersey Business & Industry Association (NJBIA), has published a special supplement, “Innovation Ecosystem: Forging Academic & Industry Collaborations,” that was unveiled at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization’s (BIO) annual international convention in San Francisco earlier in June.

The supplement includes profiles of Montclair State University, Rowan University, Rutgers University and Stevens Institute of Technology.

In the supplement, New Jersey Lt. NJIT’s Economic Impact New Jersey Exceeds $1.7 Billion

NJIT Economic Impact ReportNewark, NJ, April 1, 2016 New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) creates at least $1.74 billion of economic value for the Garden State each year, according to a new analysis of the Newark-based research university’s economic impact.

NJIT is a leading national polytechnic, STEM-focused public institution of higher education.  NJIT’s unique portfolio of teaching, research, service and economic development makes it one of the largest suppliers of the technology workforce, and the largest technology incubator, in the state.

Powering New Jersey’s Economy

The analysis, based on the work of independent consultants, found that the largest component of NJIT’s impact—stimulating new economic activity of about $724 million every year in the state of New Jersey, and approximately $350 million within the city of Newark—is a result of the university’s ongoing operations. Acting Governor Guadagno Celebrates Completion of Bond Act Project at William Paterson University

 Trenton, NJ, January 19, 2016 ― Acting Governor Kim Guadagno on January 13 attended the grand opening of University Hall, a life sciences academic building, at William Paterson University, in Wayne.

The project was completed partially through funds from the Building Our Future General Obligation Bond Act (the GO Bond Act), which was signed into law by Governor Christie in 2012.

Rutgers Dedicates New Food, Nutrition and Health Institute to Help Solve Serious, Preventable Health Problems

New Jersey Institute for Food, Nutrition and HealthNew Brunswick, NJ, October 29, 2015 ― Rutgers University on October 27 dedicated the New Jersey Institute for Food, Nutrition and Health (IFNH), a universitywide hub for interdisciplinary research whose mission is to make New Jersey the “Healthy State” and a model for the nation.

The nearly 80,000-square-foot facility on the George H. Cook campus, Rutgers-New Brunswick, is supported by a $10 million grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation, $10 million from an anonymous donor and $35 million from the state’s Building Our Future Bond Act of 2012. Continue reading

Lt. Governor Guadagno Celebrates Expanded Carrier Clinic Facility

Governor Kim Guadagno yesterday joined the Carrier Clinic in Belle Mead to commemorate the Clinic’s recent $21 million construction and expansion project, which added 40 beds to the Blake Recovery Center, 40 new acute care beds and a new admissions center.

“Institutions such as the Carrier Clinic allow us to remind those suffering from the effects of addiction, either directly or indirectly, that they are not alone. We care and want to help them. And we can help them,” said Lt. Governor Guadagno.  “New Jersey’s residents benefit greatly from these services and I look forward to continuing the positive relationship between our administration and the Carrier Clinic.” Continue reading

NJ Chamber to Honor Lt. Governor Guadagno and Other Leaders on October 14

Governor Kim Guadagno, Labor Department Commissioner Harold J. Wirths and PNC Bank Regional President Linda Bowden with its Business Advocates of the Year.

All seven recipients are being honored by the State Chamber for their work advancing New Jersey as a more business friendly state and as a great place to live and work.
