The New Jersey Life Sciences Vendors Alliance (NJLSVA) is a coalition of businesses, individuals and academia who provide goods and services to New Jersey’s life sciences companies.

The NJLSVA was founded to educate suppliers on trends in industry procurement and public policy that affects the life sciences industry.

Christie Administration Announces $1.5 Million Grant to Encourage New Paid Student Internships

Trenton, NJ, May 9, 2017 — The Christie Administration announced a new $1.5-million program through the New Jersey Department of Labor and Workforce Development to increase the number of high school and college students who are engaging in paid internships at New Jersey companies.

The announcement was made at the New Jersey Statewide Career and Internship Fair at Rutgers University — a public event which hosted more than 2,000 candidates and 170 employers recruiting for full-time, part-time, and internship positions in a variety of industries.

The Many Paths, One Future Internship Grant will reimburse employers 50 percent of wages paid to new interns up to $1,500. Interns must be enrolled in a New Jersey high school or college. Companies must agree to consider interns for future job openings. Continue reading

Project SEARCH Brings Internships to Special Needs Students

Those answering “yes” are a growing part of the workforce, according to a recent U.S. Department of Labor report, which reported an increase in employed individuals with disabilities or developmental issues, despite a current increase in unemployment of the general public.  Continue reading

Choose New Jersey Seeks Scholarship Support and Internship Sponsorship for ‘Smart Students’ Program

Choose NJ Smart-students-logo-400x222Princeton, NJ, March 2, 2016Choose New Jersey, Inc. last month launched Smart Students Choose New Jersey, a scholarship and internship program that will recognize the best and brightest students in Newark and Camden who choose to attend a New Jersey institute of higher learning.

As a business community member, your company can participate in this pilot program by either sponsoring the program financially or by offering a paid internship to a student in the summer of 2017.

Smart Students Choose New Jersey is unique as it offers the opportunity for students to work at top businesses and organizations from around the Garden State — from Fortune 500 companies, to labor organizations and small businesses across a variety of industries and sectors. Continue reading
