NJ Department of Health Encourages HIV Testing as Part of National HIV Testing Day Observance

HIV Ribbon and WordsTrenton, NJ, June 24, 2016 — New Jersey Department of Health Commissioner Cathleen D. Bennett is encouraging residents to get tested for HIV as part of annual National HIV Testing Day on June 27.

“Testing is critical to determine your HIV status. Early detection is key to managing the disease,” Commissioner Bennett said. “Some people are living with HIV and do not know it. They risk not receiving the medical care they need to stay healthy and unknowingly passing HIV to others.” Continue reading

June 27 Is National HIV Testing Day; NJ Dept. of Health Provides Resources

Trenton, NJ, June 26, 2015 ― New Jersey Department of Health Commissioner Mary E. O’Dowd urges New Jersey residents to get tested for HIV as part of the annual National HIV Testing Day Observance, held June 21- 27.

“Testing is the only way to know if you have HIV,” said Commissioner O’Dowd.  “Early detection is key to getting into treatment, managing HIV and having the best quality of life.  There are highly effective treatments available which can dramatically improve longevity and quality of life for those living with HIV.” Continue reading
