The NJLSVA was founded to educate suppliers on trends in industry procurement and public policy that affects the life sciences industry.

Event: Democratic, GOP Candidates for New Jersey Governor to Debate Back-to-Back at Stockton May 9

Galloway, NJ, April 13, 2017 — Gubernatorial candidates running in the June 6 Primary for the Republican and Democratic Parties’ nominations will debate in two separate forums at Stockton University on Tuesday, May 9.

Lt. Gov. Kim Guadagno and Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli of the 16th District, which includes municipalities in Hunterdon, Mercer, Middlesex and Somerset counties, will face off for the GOP.

Phil Murphy, a former ambassador to Germany and a financier; state Sen. Ray Lesniak, of the 20th District, which includes several Union County municipalities; Jim Johnson, an attorney and activist who was formerly an Assistant Secretary of the Treasury and Under Secretary of the Treasury for Enforcement; and Assemblyman John Wisniewski, of the 19th District, which includes five Middlesex County municipalities, will debate in the Democratic contest. New Jersey Celebrates National Minority Health Month 2017; Health Equity Forums Scheduled

Trenton, NJ, April 11, 2017 — April is National Minority Health Month and this year’s theme is “Bridging Health Equity Across Communities.”

To raise awareness and highlight New Jersey’s efforts to promote and build healthier communities, hospitals, local and county health departments, and community groups will host more than 70 events throughout the state.

The New Jersey Department of Health’s Office of Minority and Multicultural Health (OMMH), along with its local partners, will be holding a series of health equity forums to encourage health and wellness, and disease prevention. Continue reading

Event: Hunterdon County’s Inaugural Hackathon Set for April 28-29 Aims to Ignite Technology Growth

February 24, 2017, Flemington, NJ — Hunterdon County Economic Development, Hunterdon County Chamber of Commerce, and Flemington Community Partnership are partnering to host Hunterdon County’s first-ever hackathon, HackHunterdon.

The 24-hour marathon tech product creation competition will take place on April 28-29 at the Feed Mill Station in Flemington, NJ.

NJIT to Host Inauguration of Institute of Brain and Neuroscience Research and President’s Forum March 6

Newark, NJ, February 17, 2017 — New Jersey Institute of Technology (NJIT) will host the inauguration of the Institute of Brain and Neuroscience Research (IBNR) and President’s Forum March 6 from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Campus Center Atrium.

The IBNR was created to be the primary home for all neuroscience initiatives at NJIT, functioning as an umbrella and organizing framework for diverse areas, from basic research that looks at how animal behavior is generated in the nervous system, to mathematical modeling of neuronal oscillations, to brain imaging, to neurorehabilitation.
