stem-girls-1Trenton, NJ, November 5, 2016 — Girl Scouts introduces girls of every age to science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) experiences relevant to everyday life.  That’s right — it’s more than cookies.

Whether they’re discovering how a car’s engine runs, how to manage finances, learning to code, building an app, or exploring careers in STEM fields, girls are fast-forwarding into the future.

Partnership for Prescription Assistance Presents Website, New App: Spread the Word

Maybe even you have struggled yourself. But the Partnership for Prescription Assistance — or PPA — is committed to helping.

PPA was created as a free and confidential program over a decade ago by America’s biopharmaceutical research companies.

With an easy-to-use website and a new mobile app, patients have a single point of access to 475 public and private assistance programs, including nearly 200 offered by biopharmaceutical companies.

PSEG Institute Launches Green Teams; Transdisciplinary Student Teams Begin Summer Program to Help NJ Businesses

Green 2Montclair, NJ, June 13, 2016 ― The PSEG Institute for Sustainability Studies (PSEG ISS) at Montclair State University welcomed the members of its new Green Teams pilot program for a special event on May 31 to mark the beginning of an initiative that features select graduate and undergraduate students and some of New Jersey’s leading corporations.

Held in the University’s new Center for Environmental Life Sciences, the morning program brought together the 35 undergraduate and three graduate students who will be participating in the 10-week program, which allows transdisciplinary teams to work together to aid New Jersey businesses in solving sustainability problems.

As part of a PSEG ISS Green Team, students will have the ability to gain business connections and interact with local community members, while gaining experience in applied science and improving their abilities to work within a team. Continue reading

Johnson & Johnson Forms Partnerships to Bolster Girls’ Interest in STEM Fields

STEM 1New Brunswick, NJ, June 7, 2016, 2016 ― Meg Fry reports in NJBIZ that it is one thing for corporations to encourage and support women in traditionally male-dominated careers; it’s another for them to provide women with the education and tools needed to succeed in such fields.

Johnson & Johnson in New Brunswick yesterday announced partnerships with nonprofit organizations FHI 360 in Durham, North Carolina, and Junior Achievement Worldwide in Boston to help support and create supplementary programs for the organization’s WiSTEM2D, or Women in Science, Technology, Engineering, Math, Manufacturing and Design, initiative.

The health science company created WiSTEM2D last year to support women of all ages in STEM-related fields by inspiring and educating girls between the ages of 5 and 18 via academic programs utilizing creative problem-solving and play. Continue reading

Johnson & Johnson Teams with Rutgers to Advance Women’s Education in STEM Fields

STEM WomenNew Brunswick, NJ, January 22, 2016 ― Rutgers University-New Brunswick Honors College is one of 10 partners worldwide selected by Johnson & Johnson to help increase the number of undergraduate women majoring in the fields of science, technology, engineering, math, manufacturing and design (STEM2D).

Johnson & Johnson also entered into agreements with the National Center for Women and Information Technology and eight other leading academic centers, including Caltech, Harvey Mudd College, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Instituto Tecnológico de Aeronáutica (ITA – Brazil), Rhode Island School of Design, Spelman College, The University of Tokyo, and The University of Limerick.
