The New Jersey Life Sciences Vendors Alliance (NJLSVA) is a coalition of businesses, individuals and academia who provide goods and services to New Jersey’s life sciences companies.

The NJLSVA was founded to educate suppliers on trends in industry procurement and public policy that affects the life sciences industry.

Choose New Jersey Announces Smart Students Choose New Jersey Scholars

Choose NJ Smart-students-logo-400x222Princeton, NJ, September 12, 2016Choose New Jersey — along with prominent business, education and community leaders — are pleased to announce the recipients of the inaugural Smart Students Choose New Jersey scholarship and internship awards.

The program was created to encourage New Jersey’s most accomplished students to remain in New Jersey for their post-secondary education and professional careers.

Piloted in high schools in Newark and Camden in 2016, the program recognized the highest academically-ranked senior from each participating high school that chose to attend a New Jersey college or university.

The 27 Newark and 10 Camden Smart Students represent public, private and charter high schools throughout the cities. Continue reading

Choose New Jersey Launches Smart Students Program for High School Students in Newark and Camden; Officials Applaud

Choose New Jersey logoPrinceton, NJ, January 5, 2016 ― Working closely with leadership in the City of Newark and other partners, Choose New Jersey, Inc. today launched a scholarship and internship program to recognize the best and brightest students in Newark and Camden who choose to attend a New Jersey institute of higher learning.

Known as Smart Students Choose New Jersey, the pilot program will reward the highest academically ranked graduating senior at each of Newark’s 33 public, private and charter high schools and Camden’s 11 public, private and charter high schools who choose to attend a New Jersey college or university.

The program will offer a one-time scholarship of $2,000 and a paid summer internship opportunity each year over three years. Continue reading

New Jersey surged to the top of the annual biotech growth assessment as a result of its ability to attract new players and grant funding, leverage its world-class research hubs, and its ability to support startups and develop new industry clusters.

NJBIZ: New Jersey Closer to Landing an Israeli Life Science Company

Trenton, NJ, August 18, 2015 ― Tom Bergeron reports in NJBIZ that Macrocure, a clinical-stage biopharmaceutical company based in Israel, appears to be closer to moving its headquarters to New Jersey.

On August 12, the New Jersey’s Economic Development Authority awarded Grow NJ tax credits for up to $3.2 million over 10 years for Macrocure to establish its North American headquarters at the EDA’s Technology Centre of New Jersey in North Brunswick.  The EDA previously had approved a 10-year, three-month lease at the Centre. Choose New Jersey logoPrinceton, NJ, July 6, 2015 ― According to Choose New Jersey, the Garden State’s talented workforce, world-class universities, top teaching hospitals and research institutions, assets for clinical trials, and high concentration of pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies make the Garden State a global hub for the life sciences sector and an unmatched powerhouse in the industry.

New Jersey is home to headquarters or operations of 14 of the 20 largest biopharmaceutical companies; more than 3,100 life science and biopharmaceutical establishments; and a robust medical technology industry, including BD and Stryker.

With more than 3,100 facilities operating across all industry sectors, New Jersey’s life sciences industry directly employs 115,000 people in the state.

The annual economic impact of the life science industry in New Jersey is estimated to be $30.1 billion. Continue reading
