Polls: GOP’s Obamacare Replacement Proposal Is Unpopular; 66% Disapprove of Trump’s Handling of Health Care

Washington, DC, May 15, 2017 — How enthusiastic are Americans for the House Republicans’ health care proposal, the American Health Care Act (AHCA), which aims to repeal and replace President Obama’s Affordable Care Act?

Not so much, find two recent polls.

A NBC News/Wall Street Journal survey, released yesterday, found that the Republicans’ Obamacare-replacement bill, which has received the enthusiastic support of President Donald Trump, has the support of 23 percent of those Americans polled. Continue reading

Senate Majority Leader McConnell Says Senate to Act This Week on Obamacare Repeal

Obamacare REPEALWashington, DC, January 9, 2017 — The U.S. Senate will take its first steps toward repealing President Barack Obama’s signature healthcare reform act by the end of the week, Republican Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said on Sunday.

Speaking on CBS’s “Face the Nation,” McConnell said: “There ought not to be a great gap” between repealing the act and replacing it and that Republicans would be “replacing it rapidly after repealing it.”
