The New Jersey Life Sciences Vendors Alliance (NJLSVA) is a coalition of businesses, individuals and academia who provide goods and services to New Jersey’s life sciences companies.

The NJLSVA was founded to educate suppliers on trends in industry procurement and public policy that affects the life sciences industry.

R&D Council of NJ Presents 2014 Edison Patent Awards

Chatham, NJ, November 7, 2014 ― The Research & Development Council of New Jersey presented its 2014 Edison Patent Awards last evening at the Liberty Science Center in Jersey City, NJ.

This year’s Edison Patent Award winners are:

  • U.S. Army ARDEC (Defense)
  • NJIT (Enabling Technology)
  • Siemens Corporation, Corporate Technology (Energy)
  • BASF (Environmental)
  • Exxon Mobil Research & Engineering Company (Industrial Process)
  • Avaya Labs (Information Technology)
  • Honeywell (Materials Technology)
  • Merck & Co. (Pharmaceutical Process)
  • Novartis Pharmaceuticals Corporation (Pharmaceutical Formulation)
  • Alcatel-Lucent Bell Labs (Telecommunications)

In addition, the R&D Council of New Jersey will honor three gentlemen with special recognition:

  • Science & Technology Medal:  John J. Mooney, Chemical Engineer and Co-Inventor of the Three-Way Catalytic Converter
  • Chairman’s Award:  Ralph Izzo, Ph.D., CEO & President, PSE&G
  • Educator of the Year:  Robert Barchi, Ph.D., President, Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey

For more than half a century, the Chatham-based Research & Development Council of New Jersey has been dedicated to cultivating an environment supportive of the advancement of research and development in New Jersey. Established in 1962, the Council was created to serve as a unified voice for the three R&D sectors — industry, academia and government — to work with the State to create an environment R&D could thrive in. The R&D Council is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization whose membership includes representatives from academia, government and industry, including several Fortune 500 companies.
