Washington, DC, August 4, 2017 — More than half of Republicans in a Quinnipiac University poll released on Thursday do not approve of the way their party has handled healthcare in Congress.

Sixty percent of Republicans said they disapprove, while only 32 percent of Republicans said they approve.

American voters as a whole also voiced their disapproval with Republican efforts, with 80 percent saying they disapprove.  Fifteen percent said they approve.

The poll comes nearly a week after Republican efforts to repeal Obamacare failed in the Senate, with three Republican senators joining all 48 Democrats in voting against a so-called “skinny” repeal bill.

The Quinnipiac University poll of 1,125 voters was conducted between July 27 and Aug. 1. Its margin of error is 3.4 percentage points.
