Who We Are

The New Jersey Life Sciences Vendors Alliance (NJLSVA) is a coalition of businesses, individuals and academia who provide goods and services to New Jersey’s life sciences companies.

The NJLSVA was founded to educate suppliers on trends in industry procurement and public policy that affects the life sciences industry.

NJLSVA Biennial Procurement Conference HUGE Success

More than 100 guests attended the Biennial New Jersey Life Sciences Vendors Alliance (NJLSVA) Procurement Conference held on April 26th at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township. Vendors heard from leading biopharmaceutical company experts on the latest trends in life science industry procurement and outsourcing; and from state economic development officials on programs and incentives available to help grow their business.

“This is always one of our better attended events and this year was no exception,” said Donald Sico, Executive Director of NJLSVA. “I am constantly amazed at the breadth and scope of the life sciences industry’s vendor community which truly stretches from High Point to Cape May and represents virtually every industry sector in the Garden State’s business family.”

The conference agenda included presentations from:

• Dean J. Paranicas, President and CEO, HealthCare Institute of New Jersey
• Donna Donato, Senior Director, Business Planning and Portfolio Management,
for Pfizer Global Procurement and Operations
• Senator Steven Oroho, (District 24), Member of the Senate Budget and Appropriations
and the Senate Economic Growth Committees
• Linda Kellner, Acting Executive Director of the New Jersey Business Action Center
• Caren Franzini, CEO, New Jersey Economic Development Authority.
• Tracye McDaniel, President & CEO, Choose NJ
• Margaret DuBell, Sourcing Director, Johnson & Johnson
• Chandrika Karavadra, Director, Strategic Sourcing, Novartis Pharmaceuticals

The latest data on the life sciences industry’s impact on local New Jersey business was also unveiled at the conference. According to the data, in 2010 life sciences companies purchased more than $8.8 billion worth of goods and services through more than 13,000 relationships with local New Jersey businesses. The complete data can be found at www.weworkforhealth.org/maps/nj.

In his remarks to the vendors, Mr. Paranicas said, “Concurrent with the growth of the industry in New Jersey, the most comprehensive and specialized network of industry vendors in the world has also evolved here that provides critical support to the industry. New Jersey is known as the ‘medicine chest of the world’ for its unmatched cluster of life sciences companies. But that cluster could not grow and prosper without the support that all of you provide. You are a key part of New Jersey’s life sciences industry and a big reason why pharmaceutical and medical technology companies are attracted to the state.”
