Governor Christie Says He’s a ‘Complete Supporter’ of Vaccinations
Newark, NJ, February 26, 2015 ― Appearing last evening on New Jersey 101.5’s “Ask the Governor” program with Eric Scott, New Jersey Governor Chris Christie said that he is a “complete supporter” of mandatory vaccines.
The Governor said he was surprised by the reaction to comments he made about vaccinations while on a trade mission to the United Kingdom earlier this month.
Christie repeated that he and his wife, Mary Pat, had their kids vaccinated and said that’s the best measure of his stance.
Christie’s had told reporters in Cambridge that he believed “parents need to have some measure of choice” when it comes to vaccinations. His comments unleashed days of criticism and press attention.
However, last night, Christie said he had been referring solely to the issue of mandating new vaccines.
