The NJLSVA was founded to educate suppliers on trends in industry procurement and public policy that affects the life sciences industry.

VENDORS EVENT: HINJ and Somerset County Business Partnership to Host 2017 Life Sciences Vendors Procurement Conference on November 2

New Brunswick, NJ, October 23, 2017 — The HealthCare Institute of New Jersey’s (HINJ) annual Life Sciences Vendors Procurement Conference is scheduled for Thursday, November 2 from 8:00 to 11:30 a.m. at Raritan Valley Community College, Route 28 and Lamington Road, North Branch, NJ.

The event — entitled “How to Do Business with Pharma and Medical Technology Companies” — will be co-sponsored by the Somerset County Business Partnership (SCBP) with support from Eli Lilly and Company and Allergan.

Senator Kip Bateman (R-Somerset) will be the special guest speaker at the event that aims to educate businesses, large and small, on trends in procurement and issues of importance to the industry. Continue reading

Event: HINJ and Rutgers Biomedical Engineering Medical Device Development Center to Host Cybersecurity for Medical Devices’ on October 19; Second in Forum Series

New Brunswick, NJ, October 18, 2017 — Please join the Rutgers Biomedical Engineering Medical Device Development Center and the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ) on Thursday, October 19 for “Cybersecurity for Medical Devices: Why and How,” which is the second in their Fall 2017 series of educational panels and seminars that focus on the medical device industry.

The forum will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Rutgers University Easton Auditorium (Busch Campus), 101 Bevier Road, Piscataway.  A networking reception will begin at 5:00 p.m.; the program will start at 5:30 p.m.

HINJ Hosts Life Sciences Celebration 2017; Honors Six for Meritorious Contributions

New Brunswick, NJ, October 13, 2017 ― Celebrating its 20th anniversary, the HealthCare Institute of New Jersey (HINJ) yesterday morning honored four individuals, a nonprofit patient advocacy organization and a public high school for their meritorious contributions in public service, medical innovation/human health, patient access/advocacy and STEM education.

The recipients of HINJ’s fifth annual honors — presented at the Historic Trenton Masonic Temple — were:

Member, New Jersey Senate (Burlington)

HINJ honored Senator Allen for her nearly 22 years of distinguished legislative service that has earned her a reputation as being one of the most effective patient advocates in the New Jersey Senate.  In the past year alone, Senator Allen, who will retire from the Senate in January, authored laws relating to elder abuse; domestic violence; improved support for veterans challenged with addiction and mental health issues; and the expansion of telemedicine, which is revolutionizing patient access to health care. Stockton University’s Hughes Center to Honor Six on November 9; Former VP Biden to Present Special Honor

Galloway, NJ, October 11, 2017 — The Hughes Center Honors will recognize six outstanding New Jersey leaders at the Stockton Seaview Hotel & Golf Club on Thursday, November 9.

Among those honored will be the late Jim Whelan, who served as a City Councilman and Mayor of Atlantic City and later a state Senator until his death in August.

“We mourn the loss of Sen Whelan, but welcome the opportunity to honor his memory and share his legacy as we recognize the accomplishments of all our honorees,” said Sharon Schulman, executive director of the Hughes Center for Public Policy at Stockton University. Continue reading

Tomorrow! ‘Made in New Jersey’ Manufacturing Day Set for October 6; Award Finalists Announced

Cedar Knolls, NJ, October 5, 2017 — Three individuals and 21 companies were named finalists for the 2017 Manufacturing Awards.

The awards, given by the New Jersey Manufacturing Extension Program, will be announced at the sixth annual “Made in New Jersey” Manufacturing Day, Oct. 6, at the Bridgewater Marriott.
