The New Jersey Life Sciences Vendors Alliance (NJLSVA) is a coalition of businesses, individuals and academia who provide goods and services to New Jersey’s life sciences companies.

The NJLSVA was founded to educate suppliers on trends in industry procurement and public policy that affects the life sciences industry.

Higher Ed Restructuring Act Is Transforming Rowan University

Glassboro, NJ, July 3, 2014NJBIZ’s Andrew Sheldon reports that the New Jersey Medical and Health Sciences Education Restructuring Act has, within its first year, brought changes that Rowan University President Dr. Ali Houshmand is calling “the most tremendous and promising transformation we have celebrated in our 90-year history.”

One major change was the addition of the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences.  With this addition, Rowan has become only the second university in the nation to have schools offering both M.D. and D.O. medical degrees.

The legislation, which took effect July 1, 2013, also designated the University as the state’s second comprehensive public research facility.  This designation is “a milestone that opens many doors for our university,” Dr. Houshmand said. Continue reading

Rutgers to Host Biopharma, Health Care Innovation Leaders at North American Summit July 21-22

New Brunswick, NJ, July 2,  2014 — Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey will host the influential TTS Global Initiative’s North American Summit on July 21-22 at Rutgers’ Busch Campus in Piscataway, NJ.

The North American Summit is an annual meeting of top biotech VCs, bankers, biopharmaceutical and health care executives, technology-transfer and licensing directors with universities and institutes, biotech CEOs, and other key stakeholders in early-stage biotech and health care.
