The NJLSVA was founded to educate suppliers on trends in industry procurement and public policy that affects the life sciences industry.

Congressional GOP Leaders Won’t Name Candidates to Health Care Advisory Board

Washington, DC, May 10, 2013The Washington Post reports that House and Senate Republican leaders told President Barack Obama Thursday that they will refuse to nominate candidates to serve on the Independent Payment Advisory Board (IPAB), an advisory board that is to play a role in holding down Medicare costs under the new health care act.

The 15-member IPAB would have the power to force payment cuts on insurers, drug companies and other service providers if Medicare costs rise beyond certain levels. Continue reading
